Leaf Bracelet
Awww…fall is finally here! I absolutely love fall–the cooler temperatures, beautiful colors, and all of the fun family activities.
A few weeks ago we did this little activity with the 2 and 3 year old class we teach at our church (I also included it in an article I wrote). The kids all loved it. I was meandering around the blogosphere last Friday when I also found the same activity here! :)
So, here’s what you’ll need:Â duct tape. Yup, that’s it. And did you know that Duct tape now comes in colors and patterns??? We’re sporting the leopard print but, who knows, maybe next time we’ll try the tie-dye. :)
1. Tear off a piece of duct tape large enough to fit around your child’s wrist. |
2. Turn the tape sticky-side-out and wrap around his wrist. |
3. Encourage your little one to begin sticking various colors of leaves on the tape as you walk around outside. Talk about what colors you see. |
Big Brother’s bracelet was full, but he insisted on adding more! |

We love nature bracelets they are so much fun and make great keepsakes of fun excapades together…
hey, there we are! cool, jenae! thanks.
wow, super easy and super cute!
Love it! It's spring here in Aus, but we could easily turn these into daisy bracelets. Thank you!
Thank you! I just did this project with my girls after we had a lesson on trees. We made bracelets and crows. They loved it!
Oops, I meant crowns, not crows.
I'm new to your Blog and SO happy I found you!
What a cute idea!! I appreciate how you use commonplace items to create and teach with so I can try the ideas right away!!
:D
We loved them too. We called them cuffs for the boys. I had a problem with the tape pulling their armhair (it was some long armhair) but you can just fold a little over and its just enough not to get stuck. Thanks again!
I also love your site~ just the kind of projects/art/fun todo with 4 & 5 year olds.
I imagine the bracelets are made big enough to be able to slip on and off!
We do these too, we’ve made crowns, bracelets, rings! It’s one of my favorite activites to do.
Just letting you know that I linked to this post in a unit study I wrote about autumn leaves: http://www.zujava.com/leaf-study
great idea,I will do this activity for sure with my group of 4 year olds.thanks
Thanks for sharing all of your experiences!
