Homemade Snowglobe

I love finding ways to repurpose things that would otherwise be thrown away. This snowglobe is made from a baby food jar we had lying around and a small piece of garland I trimmed off (shhh…don’t tell Prince Charming). :)

Here’s what you’ll need:  a baby food jar, water, glitter, and some small items to put inside the snowglobe. I cut off a small piece of garland and used an extra star left over from our advent boxes.

1. Hot-glue the star on the top of the “tree.”

2. Then hot-glue the tree onto the lid of the baby food jar.

3. Add some water and let your little one pour glitter in the top (I was trying to hold onto the glitter and take the picture since I didn’t want the entire contents of the glitter bottle in the snowglobe).

4. Screw on the lid as tight as it will go.

“What’s that, Mommy?”

*Obviously, make sure you are supervising your child as he/she is playing with this snowglobe. The last thing we want is shattered glass all over the floor!*

  1. Love this. So easy and so lovely! We'll be trying this for sure. I just wish we had some real snow at Christmas time here in Australia!

  2. This is adorable. I have some pickle jars out in the recycle that are going to have to be used for this project!
