Exploring Easter: Saturday
This must have been a terrible day for the disciples. Not only were they afraid for their own lives, but they probably felt as if they had no hope. Their teacher, their rabbi was gone. How disheartening that must have been!
Looking back, it’s easy to recognize the symbolism that Jesus talked about. But they were living in the present and didn’t understand.
But they didn’t understand any of this. The significance of his words was hidden from them, and they failed to grasp what he was talking about.” -Luke 18: 31-34
So today, let your child help you wash your windows. Talk to them about how much better you can see through them afterwards (especially if they have little boy handprints and doggie nose prints all over them like mine do). Read the scripture above. Talk about how the disciples didn’t understand that Jesus had to die and rise from the dead–until it actually happened.
