Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats
First published May 2011. Updated 2019.
These are so simple! I’m a little embarrassed to even share because they are so easy, but they are SO YUMMY, so I decided to go ahead anyway.
The recipe is exactly like the regular Rice Krispie Treats recipe on the box. Except you add peanut butter. A lot of it! The combination is delicious!
Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 Tablespoons Butter (or coconut oil… though they will taste like a Chick-o-Stick if you use coconut oil)
- 1 bag of Marshmallows (regular, not the mini)
- 1 big, heaping spatula of peanut butter
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies
Method:
1. Dump the marshmallows and butter into a microwave safe bowl and set the microwave for 3 minutes. |
2. After 2 minutes, take out the bowl and dump a big heaping spatula of peanut butter into the bowl. I never actually measure, I just approximate using my spatula. :) |
3. Stir and put back in the microwave for the remaining minute. In the meantime, grease your 9×13 pan. |
4. Add the Rice Krispies and stir vigorously. Dump into the greased pan. |
5. Spray your hand with a little nonstick cooking spray and press into the pan. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes before cutting. Eat and enjoy! |

yum!
I love peanut butter! Can't wait to try this one out. Thanks!
That looks so good! I have a friend that also melts chocolate chips on top, but that's practically sinful!
Yummy!
yum! We put chocolate chips on top of ours, too.

Looks yummy and easy! Thanks for sharing. :)
Thanks. I never thought to add peanut butter. My son will love helping to make these.
We always made ours with 1 cup peanut butter and 1 package butterscotch chips (per 6 cups rice krispy cereal) — no marshmallow…. but DELISH!
