30 Days of Good Old-Fashioned Family Fun
I love month-long challenges! Â Over the years we have done 31 Days of Indoor Fun for Toddlers, 31 Days of Outdoor Fun for Toddlers, 31 Days of Pumpkin Activities, and 30 Days of Reading Fun for Beginning Readers. Â And now I am so excited about this newest series: Â 30 Days of Good Old-Fashioned Family Fun! Â Given the current world circumstances, this month seems like the perfect time to focus on spending time together as a family!
Winston Churchill once said, “There is no doubt that it is around the family and the home that all the greatest virtues, the most dominating virtues of human, are created, strengthened and maintained.”  During this time of racial tensions, political divides, and a pandemic raging in the world around us, we can inspire change starting in our very own homes.  Spending time together affords us the opportunity to have meaningful (and sometimes difficult) conversations.
“The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home.” – Confucius
Even in the midst of the fear and uncertainty during the stay at home order, one thing we cherished was the more family time we were afforded thanks to all of our other commitments being removed. Â Even though life is starting to go back to normal and more things are opening up, we are committed to protecting our family time.
For the next 30 days I will be sharing a simple way to encourage family fun.  Just to be clear, most of these ideas will be recycled from previous posts or borrowed from others (with proper credit, of course).
1. Â Family Kickball
2. Â Hungry Hungry Hippo in the Pool
3. Â Roasting Marshmallows and Making S’Mores
4. Â Water “Bomb” Fight
5. Â Mentos Geyser
6. Â Swimming and Underwater Pictures
8. Â Make Exploding Boomerangs
Great ideas, we are going to try to do a water bomb fight before the weather turns cooler again here. Thanks for the fun idea!
